I am pleased to announce that I have been selected as one of the finalists for the 2015 Canadian "Brush Off" Competition, to be held this Thursday at Avenue Art Gallery in Old Montreal!
The selected painting, Rhapsody in Blue, will be competing alongside the works of the thirteen other highly talented Canadian artists.
Being a finalist in this competition is of great importance for me, as awards and prizes are considered "golden tickets" in the career of a professional artist: they are an hard-earned achievement, a testimony of recognition throughout the art world and also a requirement for applying to most major subventions, exhibitions and other competitions.
About the Brush Off Painting Competition
The Canadian "Brush Off" Painting Competition was founded to showcase the wonderful artists our country has to offer while highlighting the significance of artistic based projects and the impact they have on people and their caregivers living with Alzheimer's Disease. As such, full ticket price ($75 each) will go directly to art-based projects as well 25% of sales from art pieces part of the competition. This year's event will be co-sponsored by the firm PSB Boisjoli and the RBC Royal Bank.
