It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the opening of my upcoming exhibition: Mouvements.
The nine pieces of this exhibition present a contrast between the latent force of nature and the frantic pace of urban life.
By literally sculpting the paint on the canvas to exploit the multi-dimensionality of the texture, I attempted to translate the emotion and the effect of movement beyond the figurative form: using ambient light as a catalyst, this relief brings forward the harmony of colour play and enhances the overall movement of the composition to bring substance, body and character to the artwork and its subject.
The exhibition takes place at the Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi Montréal Centre-Ville, being selected as an artist in residence as part of their annual general meeting.
The opening is open to all and will be held on Monday, August 25th from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
